This special will introduces the most new characters, at a total of Three-Hundred-seventy even more new characters than The Great Race, with a total of Three-Hundred-seventy new characters.

  • This marks the first of several things:
    • Kelly and Ned's first appearances since The Great Discovery and their first speaking roles since Alfie Has Kittens. They are voiced by: Keith Wickham and Robert Wilfort
    • Bryon's first appearance since Mud, Glorious Mud and his first speaking role since A Happy Day for Percy. He is voiced by Keith Wickham
    • This special will mark the first appearance of Ireland in the television series.
    • Bash and Dash's first appearances since The Christmas Tree Express. This is also the first time they appear without Ferdinand.
    • Luke's first appearance since Duncan the Humbug.
    • The Five Diesel Shunters, Shane, Yong Bao and Rajiv's first speaking roles and referred to by name in the television series. They are voiced by:Rob Rackstraw, Glenn Wrage, Keith Wickham, Kerry Shale, Matt Wilkinson, Bob Golding, Christopher Ragland, William Hope, and Dee Bradley Baker
